Sierra Wireless Raven X Cellular Gateway

The Sierra Wireless Raven X is a cellular gateway that can be used for remote monitoring and control, security surveillance, streaming video, point-of-sale and similar applications that demand intelligent, unmanned operation, the ability to utilize 3G wireless networks and integration with legacy equipment.

It accomplishes this task using ALEOS embedded intelligence, an ARM9 high speed processor and embedded machine protocols. Its architecture is designed for mobile operations and remote industrial applications. Its use of Ethernet and cellular antenna connections makes host interface easy. The Raven X’s data transmissions are highly secure.

The Raven X is simple to install and designed for mission critical tasks by being always on and always aware. It accomplishes this by using ALEOS to maintain continuous Internet connectivity, real time notifications. It offers over-the-air upgrades, diagnostics and device management and It offers over-the-air upgrades, diagnostics and device management and control.

Installation is made simple through the use of templates which allow rapid remote installation and increases ROI. Once setup is accomplished at one location, the template settings can be transmitted to the other platforms.

One of the key advantages of the Raven X is its ease of configurability. The Raven X’s ACEmanager enables remote monitoring of the configuration, operation, and health of the platform. It specifically reports on information that signals any problems and allows rapid troubleshooting. It also allows rapid reconfiguration and changes in parameter setting through resets over the air. The Modem Doctor utility logs all of Raven X’s activity for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes. The log can be sent to Sierra Wireless’ support team when needed.
