The AirLink ES450 from Sierra Wireless is a 4G cellular gateway designed for non-mobile applications such as land-line backup, branch offices, kiosks, and pop-up stores. Basically, anywhere you need connectivity except for vehicles, the ES450 is an excellent choice (use the GX450 for vehicles as it has a more rugged design and includes GPS capability).
The Sierra Wireless ES450 supports present and future hi-speed LTE networks (specific configurations are available for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon networks). It was designed with security in mind, so it supports up to 5 VPN tunnels for secure communications, as well as support for authentication mechanisms like enterprise RADIUS and TACAC+. It also has port filtering and trusted IP to ensure that the devices you connect to the ES450 are protected from unauthorized access. The ES450 is compatible with the Sierra Wireless AirVantage Management Service (AVMS) which allows you to remotely configure, update and monitor your ES450 gateways in the field.
One of the cool features of the ES450 is its architecture for use as a failover device. More specifically, it can be used as a gateway for both primary as well as failover connectivity and is designed to work with many of the leading enterprise routers. It can also be used as a terminal server for proving remote out-of-band management of network equipment.
The ES450 provides wired connections for Ethernet, Serial and USB devices. No Wi-Fi capability is available. The ES450 is AC-powered and comes with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty.
